Job Description:
Cloud / DevOps Engineer
CloudSoftway is a cloud and AI engineering company serving international customers worldwide. Join our Technology
Delivery team to build modern platforms, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. Strong DevOps and systems
fundamentals matter most; AWS experience is useful but not required.
Why Join CloudSoftway
● Global work from Damascus: contribute to real production projects for international customers across different
countries and industries.
● Modern technology exposure: Kubernetes, GitOps, DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, observability, MLOps,
GenAI, LLM infrastructure, OpenAI APIs, Claude, and AI-assisted engineering.
● Structured growth: training and certification enablement, an online-learning subscription, mentoring, and
architecture reviews. No certification is required to join.
● Learn from a founding team with international experience in Germany and the UAE, including Mercedes-Benz,
Volkswagen, SAP, and Bosch; benefit from a competitive salary, performance bonus, and clear technical growth.
Infrastructure and Project Delivery
● Design and operate reliable Linux and cloud platforms covering networking, identity and access, compute,
storage, databases, backup, and observability.
● Deliver assessments, migrations, modernisation, and production-readiness work; automate infrastructure and
configuration using Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, and Git-based change control.
DevOps, GitOps and Platform Engineering
● Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools; automate build,
test, release, and rollback workflows.
● Deploy and operate Docker and Kubernetes workloads, including Helm, ingress, secrets, configuration, scaling,
upgrades, and cluster troubleshooting.
● Apply GitOps practices using Argo CD, Flux, or similar tools, with Git as the source of truth and pull-requestbased changes.
● Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting; investigate incidents and turn recurring problems into automation
and practical runbooks.
Customer and Team Ownership
● Work directly with customers: lead technical sessions, explain trade-offs, report progress, raise risks early, and
prepare clear implementation and handover documentation.
● Own work end to end, collaborate with architects, delivery engineers, Managed Services, and Presales, and join
scheduled support or on-call coverage when required.
Requirements
● Practical written and spoken English for technical discussions, documentation, and day-to-day customer
communication. Clear communication matters more than perfect fluency.
● Hands-on experience in DevOps, Linux/system administration, platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure
operations. We value demonstrated capability over a fixed number of years.
● Strong Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals: services, permissions, processes, storage,
TCP/IP, DNS, routing, TLS, firewalls, and load balancing.
● Practical experience with Git, CI/CD, scripting in Bash or Python, and infrastructure or configuration automation.
● Working experience with containers and Kubernetes; strong ownership, documentation, and teamwork; able to
troubleshoot deployments and clusters, manage parallel assignments, and work hybrid from our Damascus office.
Nice to Have
● Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially networking, identity, compute, storage, monitoring, or
managed Kubernetes.
● Experience with Argo CD, Flux, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, ELK/OpenSearch, customer migrations,
security hardening, disaster recovery, or managed services.
