Role Overview

As a Software Engineer at Delfina Care, you will contribute to building the core systems that power an intelligent pregnancy care platform. You'll work across backend services, data systems, and user-facing applications to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and systems across the platform
• Translate product and business requirements into clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Build and integrate backend services and APIs

Collaboration

• Work closely with frontend developers to integrate UI components with backend systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product managers, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical decision-making

Quality & Testing

• Write automated tests and ensure high test coverage
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting to maintain system reliability
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices

Innovation & Improvement

• Continuously explore new technologies and propose improvements
• Contribute to system scalability, security, and performance enhancements
• Take ownership of features and proactively improve platform capabilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or Flutter)
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent)
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and GitHub
• Experience writing automated tests and building testable code
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have

• Experience designing distributed systems at scale
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud or AWS)
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Background in healthtech or healthcare-related projects
• Passion for improving maternal and child health outcomes
