We are seeking an exceptionally skilled Senior Shopify Web Developer to build, customize, and continuously improve fast, visually engaging, and high-converting e-commerce websites. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with excellent design judgment and a strong understanding of customer experience. You must be able to independently turn business goals and creative concepts into polished, reliable shopping experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes, sections, templates, and functionality with clean, maintainable code.

  • Create distinctive, mobile-first shopping experiences with intuitive navigation, engaging product pages, and streamlined purchasing flows.

  • Optimize website speed, responsiveness, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals, addressing inefficient code, heavy assets, and unnecessary app dependencies.

  • Build and refine collection pages, landing pages, product discovery, search, filtering, cart experiences, and promotional features.

  • Implement clear, reliable shopping flows for bundles, mix-and-match offers, free gifts, subscriptions, and upsells.

  • Integrate Shopify with ERP, inventory, marketing, analytics, payment, and other business systems.

  • Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to launch campaigns, refresh content, and improve conversion rates through testing and customer behavior insights.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and validate changes across devices and browsers before deployment.

  • Maintain reliable analytics tracking, technical SEO foundations, documentation, and version control.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of web development experience, including at least 3 years of advanced Shopify development.

  • An exceptional portfolio of live Shopify websites demonstrating custom development, strong visual execution, speed, and usability.

  • Advanced proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Shopify theme architecture, and Online Store 2.0.

  • Strong experience with Shopify APIs, metafields, metaobjects, custom integrations, and app development or customization.

  • Proven ability to diagnose performance issues and deliver measurable improvements in speed and shopping experience.

  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, technical SEO, and conversion-focused development.

  • Experience with Git, structured testing, and controlled deployments.

  • Excellent attention to detail, independent problem-solving, and ownership of completed work.

  • Fluent spoken and written English and availability for agreed working-hour overlap with the U.S. team.
