Job Description:
Job Purpose & Objective:
The IT Manager will act as the primary internal owner of technology operations for the Syria entity, overseeing IT systems, technology coordination, vendor management, cybersecurity oversight, and future scalability initiatives.
The role will work closely with the company’s MSP support provider, who will deliver day-to-day technical support, infrastructure support, device configuration, and other outsourced IT services. The IT Manager will ensure these services are aligned with business needs, operational priorities, and company growth objectives.
This position requires a commercially aware, highly adaptable individual capable of bridging operational business requirements with technology solutions in a fast-growing start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Operations & Vendor Management
Act as the primary liaison between the business and the outsourced IT service provider.
Oversee performance and delivery of our MSP support services provider.
Coordinate hardware provisioning, user onboarding/offboarding, and office technology setup with external providers.
Ensure service levels, issue resolution, and IT support standards meet business requirements.
Manage IT procurement, vendor relationships, licensing, and service agreements.
Business Systems & Technology Coordination
Own and coordinate internal business systems and technology platforms.
Support implementation of future business applications, ERP systems, HR systems, finance systems, and operational tools.
Work with stakeholders to identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
Ensure systems remain scalable as the organisation grows.
Cybersecurity & Governance
Coordinate cybersecurity practices and compliance measures with internal stakeholders and external IT partners.
Maintain oversight of user access management, data protection, backups, and business continuity planning.
Support development of IT policies, procedures, and governance controls.
Field Technology & Security Systems
Coordinate and oversee field-based technology solutions, communications systems, and operational infrastructure.
Manage and support technology related to satellite communications, radio communications, and remote connectivity solutions where required.
Oversee office and site security technology including CCTV systems, access control systems, alarms, and monitoring solutions.
Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for installation, maintenance, and upgrades of operational technology systems.
Ensure operational technology solutions remain secure, scalable, and aligned with business and security requirements.
Support technology requirements for remote operations, field teams, and future expansion projects.
Office & Infrastructure Coordination
Coordinate all technology requirements for new office setup and expansion activities.
Ensure office connectivity, communications systems, meeting room technology, and user equipment are operational and scalable.
Work alongside facilities and operations teams during expansion projects.
Key Relationships:
Internal: Country Director / COO, Operations Team, HR, Finance, Procurement, Facilities/Office Management, Regional IT Teams, Department Heads, Employees/End Users, Project Teams, Senior Leadership.
External: Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Hardware & Software Vendors, Telecommunications & Internet Providers, Office Technology Suppliers, ERP/System Implementation Partners, Regulatory Authorities (where applicable), Consultants and Technology Partners.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, systems management, or IT coordination.
Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth, or start-up environments preferred.
Experience managing outsourced IT providers or managed service providers (MSPs).
Strong understanding of business systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity principles, and operational IT governance.
Excellent communication, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to operate independently and build scalable processes from the ground up.
