Job Purpose
The Backend Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and owning backend systems and features end-to-end for international client projects. This role focuses on delivering reliable, scalable solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams through continuous feedback, iteration, and shared ownership of code quality and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own backend features and systems end-to-end, from design to deployment.
- Identify risks early and proactively communicate them before they impact delivery.
- Collaborate closely with team members through pairing, code reviews, and short iteration cycles.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients.
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Work directly with international clients when required to understand needs and deliver solutions.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to team growth and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously improve code quality, system design, and development processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience & Skills
- Mid-level to senior experience in backend software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in .NET, SQL Server, and AWS.
- Ability to break down complex problems and take ownership with minimal supervision.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture, APIs, and scalable system design.
- Strong awareness of the business context behind technical solutions.
- Commitment to improving systems, codebases, and team practices (leave things better than you found them).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
