Job Purpose

The Backend Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and owning backend systems and features end-to-end for international client projects. This role focuses on delivering reliable, scalable solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams through continuous feedback, iteration, and shared ownership of code quality and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own backend features and systems end-to-end, from design to deployment.
  • Identify risks early and proactively communicate them before they impact delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with team members through pairing, code reviews, and short iteration cycles.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Work directly with international clients when required to understand needs and deliver solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to team growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuously improve code quality, system design, and development processes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience & Skills

  • Mid-level to senior experience in backend software engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in .NETSQL Server, and AWS.
  • Ability to break down complex problems and take ownership with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of backend architecture, APIs, and scalable system design.
  • Strong awareness of the business context behind technical solutions.
  • Commitment to improving systems, codebases, and team practices (leave things better than you found them).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
